English as a Second Language for Adult International Students


 

Location- Roy J Wasson Academic Campus

  • Assist the classroom teacher with small groups of students or individual tutoring for English language development. 
  • Work with adult immigrants and refugees from approximately 20 different countries. 
  • Both mornings and evenings Monday through Thursday for 3-6 hours a week.
  • Volunteers will need to complete this online D11 Volunteer Registration Form and pass a basic background check. 

High School Equivalency / GED Preparation for Adult Students


 

Location- Roy J Wasson Academic Campus

  • Assist the classroom teacher with instruction in reading, writing, or math skills in order to help students prepare for the GED exam or other high school equivalency diplomas.  
  • Tutor individual students or assist by teaching small groups of students reading strategies or math lessons.
  • Work with students ages 17+. 
  • Both mornings and evenings Monday through Thursday for 3-6 hours a week.
  • Volunteers will need to complete this online D11 Volunteer Registration Form and pass a basic background check.
