Intro to Welding Careers

This class is for people wanting to learn more about career possibilities in welding, and have a better understanding of the welding sector. 

This class will cover:

  • careers in manufacturing/welding
  • developing a knowledge base of safety, production, and logistics
  • equipment in welding

Additionally, students will develop employability skills and practice math in manufacturing. Students will speak with local companies, as well as visit a manufacturing/welding work site. Students that are job-ready will be assisted with resumes and interviews.

Welding

Welding Pathway: Students will be expected to master at least one American Welding Society (AWS) 1G process required by many metal manufacturers, as well as employers, in the skilled building trades. Every manufacturing student will be required to complete the OSHA 10 class focused on safety for general industry.
